Nur so ein Gefühl …

Das Bauchgefühl ist für mich sicher eines der wichtigsten Sensoren, wenn es um Entscheidungen geht. Aber auch im Arbeitsalltag ist es für mich immer mehr eine wichtige Entscheidungsgrundlage. Und manchmal geht es nur um Kleinigkeiten …

Ich wusste, dass sich heute ein Polier, ein Baggerfahrer und ein Baumpfleger auf der Baustelle abstimmen dürfen. Alles vernünftige und praktikable Menschen. Und dennoch dachte ich mir, ich mache mich auf den Weg Richtung Baustelle und trinke unterwegs noch einen Kaffee.

Und da war auch schon der Anruf: „Wir können nicht arbeiten!“

Alles steht.

Vor Ort ergab sich folgende Situation:
- Keine arbeitet
- Wahrscheinlich (?) sind da überall Wurzeln!
- Keine Grabungsarbeiten möglich!

Kurzes Gespräch mit allen Beteiligten, danach vorsichtiger Probeschurf. Stopp. Begutachtung der Wurzeln. Weiter.

Sukzessive wurde weitergearbeitet. Wurzeln teilweise geschützt und professionell verarztet. Alles wie geplant hergestellt.

Meine Learnings:
- Kommunikation ist alles
- Offenheit
- Vertrauen

… bestimmen den Arbeitsalltag.

Diese Punkte sind für mich erfolgsfaktoren für ein gelungenes Bauprojekt.

Just a feeling …

For me, gut instinct is certainly one of the most important factors when it comes to making decisions. But even in my day-to-day work, it’s increasingly becoming a key basis for my decisions. And sometimes it’s just about the little things …

I knew that today a foreman, an excavator operator and a tree surgeon were due to meet on the building site to coordinate their work. All sensible and practical people. And yet I thought to myself, I’ll head over to the building site and grab a coffee on the way.

And then the call came: “We can’t work!”

Complete standstill.

On site, the situation was as follows:
- No one’s working
- There are probably (?) roots everywhere!
- No excavation work possible!

A brief discussion with everyone involved, followed by a cautious test cut. Stop. Inspection of the roots. Carry on.

Work continued gradually. Some roots were protected and professionally treated. Everything was completed as planned.

What I’ve learnt:
- Communication is everything
- Openness
- Trust

… shape our day-to-day work.

For me, these points are the key factors for a successful construction project.
